Who operates Abecio?

Abecio is a free project run under Wiking Számítástechnika Kft. The personal initiative was created by Debreczeni Dávid – WikingIT; the company is the operator and data controller.

We don't record who owns each alphabet

Creating an alphabet requires no registration, user account or child profile. We don't ask for a parent's or child's real name, date of birth or address. We don't assign an owner or email address to an alphabet.

We save the alphabet's name, language, colours, topic, selected pictures, letters, words and omitted letters, plus the access and revision data needed to run the service. This allows you to continue and print later. Text entered as names and words is retained too: use a nickname or invented name and do not enter personal information.

Anyone with the private edit link can edit and delete the alphabet; the separate view-only link permits reading and printing. Content remains until deletion; alphabets have no scheduled expiry. We do not recover lost links or look up alphabets by name. Processing provides the requested service; if submitted content contains personal data, processing necessary to deliver the service is based on GDPR Article 6(1)(b).

There is no personal-alphabet list in administration. This does not mean end-to-end encryption: authorised infrastructure operators can technically access stored data.

Emailing a link to yourself

If you request your edit link by email, we use the supplied address only for that delivery. The application saves neither the address nor a sending history in its database and does not associate the address with the alphabet. Sending the requested email is based on your voluntary consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)).

The email passes through the configured mail system, so the address, message and technical delivery data appear there and in your mailbox. The application's lack of storage does not mean the mail system processes no data. We do not send marketing emails or newsletters.

Problem reports and enquiries

The report form asks only for a problem description: no name or email field, attachments or automatically attached alphabet link. We forward the text to the configured operator address. The application keeps neither a report database nor message text in its logs.

We keep the report as an email until the problem is resolved and then delete it. Do not include personal data, children's information or private alphabet links. If you voluntarily include personal data, we use it solely to process the report. Submission is voluntary; the legal basis for processing supplied personal data is consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)).

The form does not ask for a reply address, so we cannot send a personal response through it. If you want a reply, write directly to info@nii.hu . General email enquiries are kept for up to 6 months, except where contractual or statutory obligations justify a different period. Handling data-rights requests is a legal obligation (GDPR Article 6(1)(c)).

Technical data and retention

For secure operation, the server may log IP addresses, timestamps, requested URLs, browser and device information, response codes and errors. Company policy retains server logs for 60 days. Their purpose is operation, troubleshooting and detecting abuse; the legal basis is the corresponding legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).

Application error logs contain technical error codes, not entered alphabet words, messages, email addresses or access links. To limit excessive attempts, we use a keyed identifier derived from the IP address and a short-lived counter. Expired counters are deleted on the next related request; they are not ownership profiles.

Backups made for service recovery may contain earlier data. Deleting within the application affects the live database; it does not instantly overwrite every earlier backup. Ask the data controller for details of backup handling.

Cookies and browser storage

The kepesabc_session session cookie is needed for request security and administrator sign-in. Its browser lifetime is limited to the session. The kepesabc.theme local-storage entry remembers your chosen colours until changed or browser data is cleared.

Abecio includes no advertising, marketing or visitor-tracking code. Hosting may produce traffic statistics from server logs. Cookies and local data can be cleared in browser settings; this does not delete saved alphabets, but may end an admin session.

Hosting, email and external providers

Hosting is provided by Wiking Számítástechnika Kft. According to the company's notice, RackForest Informatikai Kereskedelmi Szolgáltató és Tanácsadó Zrt. participates in technical server operation and server-level data storage. Email uses the operator's configured SMTP system.

Donation links lead to external providers with their own terms. If a donation image is served externally, that provider receives technical connection data when the image loads. Abecio does not process card details or keep a supporter register.

Your rights and contact

You may request information, access, rectification, erasure or restriction regarding your personal data; data portability may also apply under the relevant conditions. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests or withdraw consent; this does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing.

Send requests to info@nii.hu ; we normally respond within one month. Alphabets have no identity register, and an alphabet's name alone does not prove it belongs to a requester. Do not send children's information or more identifying data than necessary.

Website language

The abecio_language cookie remembers your manually selected website language for one year. It does not identify an alphabet or person; you can delete it in your browser anytime.
